January 8, 2023/Overhaul

 Hello Internet,

I may as well call this part of my blog "Letters to the Void," because that is what they are.  Still, it is a safe place for me to vent my frustrations and good practice for me articulating my thoughts and putting them down onto paper.

I am more comfortable with fiction than with nonfiction.  It is safer to make up worlds than to try and explain my own.  I can examine mistakes from a distance if they are someone else's mistakes, and I can reach noncritical conclusions more easily for other people than I can for myself.  The truth is, either by fire or by trauma, I find it easier to forgive others than I do forgiving myself.

The last few days have seen me overhaul my schedule yet again.  I will be returning to work this year after my year away writing, and while I have gotten a lot of writing done, I have not found a way to monetize it.  I have tried, and I have failed.  I make a little bit of money while writing, but that is mostly pocket change, and it is not consistent enough to make a living off of yet.  So, here I am rewriting my entire life to suit an expolitative system by the virtue of necessity. 

My family is often my joy, but my family also comes before my joy, and the two things are not exclusive.

My new schedule is, as you might imagine, new to me, but it may also be the most functional schedule I have had for some time.  Now, I need to reorient myself toward pomodoros again.  Until then, I expect to fuss, but yesterday was a smashing success, so there is that.
