2023 Week XXVIII.

 Hello Internet,

We've started a new month, and I've officially started my Camp NaNoWriMo task.  My goal is 25k words over the summer.  I've been anxious all week, and my word count is lower than I would like, but I am doing my best.  As for everyone else, well, it's been a lot.  Noodle will likely not pass her class, but she already tested out of it for her degree program, so she got what she wanted from it.  She is a perfectionist, though, and she still wants to finish the class.

This has been made more difficult because she has gotten sick.  Yesterday, she threw up a few times in the morning, so I have been stuck with all three kids in my care.  Tomorrow, I am going to hit the library for a few hours and write, and I am looking forward to it.  Ratatoskr is going with me.  Hopefully, he won't get bored.  Monkey will stay home because she got bored last time.

I've beaten the main campaign on Marvel's Spider-Man and am completing DLC right now.  I'm ready for the school year to start, but I'm anxious to see my schedule change.  So is the life of a Jacob. Only one more DLC to go.  Wish me luck!

2023 Week XXVII.

 Hello Internet,

I honestly don't remember what I typed last week.  That is the sort of schedule I have been keeping lately.

On Mondays, I have been sneaking to the library to get as much writing in as I can.  That has been great for my mental health but also draining.  Furthermore, other parts of my life have been suffering as my transition sickness is taking over.  I've been very anxious as I try to plan for what the beginning of the school year will look like for me.  Luckily for me, Noodle stepped in and set me up for a doctor's appointment to recieve treatment and medication for ADHD, which should help me stay focused at times when I need it.

Meanwhile, Noodle has been struggling.  She is going back to school for a second degree, but she has a pre-req class that is kicking her butt.  It is a difficult subject, and she is trying to get it in an 8 week format.  If she doesn't do it within the time frame, it will slow down her entire graduation schedule, and the school she is attending requires a set graduation date, which is...silly.  Her last test didn't go well, and she is putting a lot of pressure on herself to succeed.

Ratatoskr and Monkey are a weekend out of Summer School and feeling listless, and they don't understand that mom and dad cannot be their personal entertainment.  Meanwhile, Kangaroo has been getting a long running string of colds from exposure at daycare.  He hasn't had to miss, but he isn't eating as much, which is an ongoing problem for him.

All in all, the life of a busy household.  We're doing our best, but I haven't written since Monday of last week, and is affecting me.

2023 Week XXVI

 Hello Internet,

Twenty-six weeks.  We're officially halfway through the year, and I have officially accepted my position within the school district and done my paperwork.  Now, I am waiting on them to contact me with the next steps.  Meanwhile, Kangaroo is in daycare, and the BKs will be taking steps toward finishing summer school.  Tuesday will be busy this week: I have to go grocery shopping, Ratatoskr has a play at the end of hte art program, and Monkey has chemo.  Tomorrow, I plan to write at the library again because last Tuesday was super healing for me.

Last week, I should have done my Summer Towers.  So, I'll list those this week:

2023 Week XXV

 Hello Internet,

Happy Daddy's Day! 

I have finally gotten contacted by HR about the next steps of my employment within the school district, and as my wife said, "All I had to do was call them repeatedly to get them to their job."  Good news is good news, though, and I will not be looking closely into this gift horse's mouth.

As for general updates: writing is not going well, but that is fine.  Kangaroo did okay at his daycare, but he has already brought a cold home.  His nose can hold an unsettling, cosmic horror amount of mucus inside of.  It's a bit like a TARDIS, honestly.  He is sleeping well because of it, though, so there is an upside. After a rough few days (weeks), the tantrums has eased.  Just in time for another transition to stir them back up. Today, in celebration of Daddy's Day, I got myself some mexican food from a local restaurant and ate myself sick, and now I am playing Marvel's Spider-Man.  Good times.

Tuesday, I think I am going to go to the library and write for a bit while Kangaroo is at daycare.
